At Edhouse, we oversaw the successful completion of many projects. Since our main occupation is software development, we gained lots of experience with development team organization. For us, the life of a project starts with methodical collection of requirements with emphasis on the needs of the end user and by setting corresponding goals. We cannot picture this initial phase without a thorough risk analysis and resource planning. This way we ensure that the project launches on the right track. For agile projects, we can also ensure the continuous collection of requirements and their prioritization (product ownership).
Project Management
We can support our ability to manage projects using predictive (waterfall), agile (SCRUM, Kanban) or hybrid methods with experience, or certificates (PRINCE2, SCRUM Master). We are also able to scale agile management (LeSS, SAFe). However, we believe that there is no silver bullet. For every project we recommend selecting a suitable management approach in advance and to continually evaluate its effectiveness. We manage projects inside our company, or externally.
Development Processes
Thanks to many years of presence in the software industry and our many clients, we had the opportunity to try out many different development processes and we got a good picture of what works. We are prepared not just to jump into existing processes but to look for their inefficiencies and propose strategies for improvement. We have successfully implemented SCRUM, or Kanban and consider the involvement of the end customer in the development process paramount.
Communication and Team Engagement
Regardless of what technology or procedure we had recommended, the key to true change was improving communication. No project management technique, or development process, can work without inputs from individual participants – be it developers, management or customers. We believe that motivation of individuals stems from understanding the benefits and from clear demonstration of how the process makes their job easier. All added administrative load must show clear benefit. We are prepared to drive this kind of change for our clients either by engaging one of our consultants or by building the right processes, eventually passing the responsibility to the client organization.
Choice of Metrics and Quality Assurance
To be able to correctly evaluate the progress of projects, we set key metrics with special attention to quality assurance. By identifying the principal qualities, the solution aims to achieve, we effectively pinpoint the project goals. If possible, we aim to provide quantitative information using accessible dashboards.
