About the Case Study _
Benefits for the customer:
- Faster delivery to end customers.
- Simplified production planning – planned utilization of individual machines is displayed in a clear diagram.
- Planning takes into account the variability of shifts as well as non-working periods (public holidays, company-wide shutdowns, etc.).
- Seamless integration of new functionality into the existing application.
- Swift delivery of new module thanks to domain expertise.
- Helped Tajmac ZPS adopt best practices in modern software development.
Tajmac-ZPS is a Czech mechanical engineering company with a long tradition, specializing in the production of machining centers. To support its manufacturing, the company developed its own MES software, ReCON, which it later began offering to customers.
In response to a request to extend the system with an APS module, Edhouse assembled a dedicated development team with its own project management and quality assurance (SQA). We designed the new module so it could be easily integrated into the existing system, even though it had not been architecturally prepared for plug-ins. Thanks to our industrial focus and experience, we were able to promptly put together a highly skilled team of software developers and ensure the fast delivery of the APS module to Tajmac-ZPS’s end customers.
APS is one of the modules of the ReCON system, designed for production planning on individual machines. Each machine is represented in the module by a Gantt chart timeline, onto which production operations created in the system are placed. APS thus enables production planners to easily gain an overview of machine capacity utilization over time.
