The Key Role of Software and Hardware in Engineering

In an interview with Voices of Industry, Jiří Baroš, CEO of Edhouse, shared his professional journey and discussed how modern technology is shaping the direction of our company. The interview, recorded at the International Engineering Fair in Brno, highlights the growing influence of software and hardware in engineering and the importance of technological developments for process optimization, efficiency improvement and data processing.

Innovative Projects in Cooperation with Industrial Partners

In the interview, Jiří Baroš presented several interesting projects that we are working on. One of them is the cooperation with Thermo Fisher Scientific, a company producing high-end electron microscopes for scientific and research purposes. These projects demonstrate that software development in such a demanding industry is far from being an isolated process. Understanding the complex workings of the whole device is key, and this requires collaboration between programmers, application specialists and system engineers. As Jiří Baroš points out, teams for these projects must be multidisciplinary.

Internal Projects That Inspire

Another interesting project, that Jiří Baroš mentions in the interview, is the development of the Meteor product, which was created during COVID as an internal initiative. At Edhouse, we comprehensively designed and developed Meteor, including its hardware components. This system efficiently manages meeting room bookings within the company. Connected to a central database and web interface, it ensures seamless scheduling and visibility of meeting rooms. The Meteor project illustrates how in-house expertise can be used to create innovative solutions.

Supporting Education as a Pillar of Corporate Responsibility

Another area highlighted in the interview was the promotion of education. At Edhouse, we have long-standing focus on supporting education, not only for our employees. We actively participate in educational initiatives aimed at young people and IT students. Examples include offering internships for university students, organizing excursions for high school students, or supporting IT teachers training in primary schools through the Edison to Schools educational project.

Inspiration for the Future

The interview concludes with the the future direction of the company. Nowadays, with the acceleration and optimization of devices generating large amounts of data whose manual processing is beyond human power, completely new possibilities are opening up. At Edhouse, we build our strategy and innovation on the areas of data processing, artificial intelligence and machine learning. As Jiří Baroš adds, these are the directions that will shape our future.
